Jason de Sousa
Jason de Sousa advises on legislative, political and regulatory risk in investment transactions. He is a former adviser to a previous Australian Finance Minister. Prior to joining Statecraft, he helped establish and build the Australian practice of a global economics and finance consulting firm. Jason applies his extensive experience in advising firms on legislative, regulatory and political risk in debt and equity investments, privatisation transactions and M&A transactions.
Michael Priebe
Michael Priebe has a broad background in corporate strategy, government relations and issues management. A former domestic policy adviser to a previous Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Michael has held a number of high-level advisory roles that saw him regularly interact with corporate and government representatives from across the globe on major corporate and regulatory issues. Prior to establishing Statecraft as its Founding Partner, Michael led the regulatory practise of Australia’s largest investor relations consultancy. Applying his exceptional skill set to corporate issues, Michael provides strategic counsel and support on complex government and regulatory issues for Australian and international companies.
Mark Vassarotti
Mark Vassarotti is an experienced economist with over 8 years of consulting experience across a range of infrastructure sectors. Mark has worked in key regulatory roles in establishing and managing economic, regulatory and commercial arrangements in the Australian telecommunication, electricity, natural gas, water, postal and rail industries. He has led the development of business cases for public sector investments in hospitals and reviewed the effectiveness of major infrastructure investments such as the national broadband network. Mark is a director of Strategic Economics Consulting Group. Prior to joining Statecraft, Mark worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Economics.
Gavin Melvin
Gavin Melvin is an accomplished financial media and investor relations practitioner. He advises on financial communications and investor relations for market participants across a broad range of sectors, including retail, resources, banking, funds management, private equity and infrastructure. Gavin advises on IPOs and capital raisings, M&A transactions and corporate restructuring programs. He was part of a team that developed and executed a major realignment strategy for an ASX 100 company following several unexpected profit downgrades.
